Our Story

As a recent bride, designer Jade O’Neill knows a thing or two about the importance of staying true to who you are as a couple when wedding planning. She’s an advocate for unique and personalised weddings and believes that not getting swept up with everyone’s opinions (and yes there are a LOT of those!) is key to creating your best day.

Something that was hugely important to Jade and her husband Will was having a sustainable wedding, with as many local suppliers and eco-friendly choices as possible. When it came to wedding stationery, they trawled through the many available suppliers out there but nothing matched the modern style they were looking for. There were plenty of floral, pretty designs made with seed paper (all beautiful of course) but nothing that was bold, contemporary with clean lines and made using recycled paper.

So armed with a creative background, Jade decided to have a go at making her own modern, sustainable wedding stationery ensuring there was zero waste! She loved the process so much that she wanted to help other couples faced with the same problem too and Paper Belles was born.

stylish + sustainable

Jade was shocked to find out that the average carbon footprint for a UK wedding is larger than the average annual household footprint according to The Sustainable Wedding Alliance. So from then on, she’s on a mission to do her bit to reduce waste and give couples beautiful stationery!

Paper Belles is all about creating modern, minimalist stationery for eco-conscious couples. We care about reducing the carbon footprint of the wedding industry. It’s our goal to do our bit for the planet but not compromise on the modern, cool style our couples love.

We only used specially handpicked sustainable materials when making our stationery. For smaller printed items we use luxury silk matte card, which is made from 100% recycled paper using a chlorine free process. Our big sign boards are also completely recyclable and are made using recycled wood pulp.

When it comes to packaging, we have a re-use policy where we aim to recycle packaging as much as possible and we ensure any new items we need to source are sustainably made.

Are you getting married and want your own sustainable wedding stationery?
